One Year Ago, No One Knew My Name—Now I Interview the People You Only Read About on TechCrunch
The unfiltered founder guide to getting in the room with top CEOs, VPs, and investors—how I landed interviews with Substack, Dropbox, and Perplexity and how you can do it too.
Hey everybody!
This week, I dropped a podcast episode I recorded with Chris Best, the co-founder and CEO of Substack. Here’s the link to the interview.
From all the comments and feedback, one person asked:
“Great work Guillermo. One question before watching the video—how do you manage to interview people like Chris? Wow.”
My first reaction to that question was to say (in my mind) “Wouldn’t you like to know weather boy?”
Howver, the question got stuck in my mind a bit, and after a day or two I realized it wasn’t a bad question at all. Rather a good one.
Because honestly, that’s what most people are wondering when they see founders talking to high-level operators, VCs, and CEOs.
So far last year, I got to interview many cool people:
“How the hell did you get access to that person?”
So that’s what this article is about.
It’s about how to actually get in the room.
